Chicken Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Cut the chicken breasts into thin strips, about 1 inch wide. Season the strips with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Make sure each piece is evenly coated with the seasonings.
Breading Mixture
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate shallow bowls, set up your breading station: one with all-purpose flour, one with whisked eggs, and one with a mixture of breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried oregano.
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Take each chicken strip, dredge it in the flour, shaking off the excess. Next, dip it into the egg, allowing any excess to drip off, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing it on to adhere well.
Frying
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the heat by dropping a small piece of bread into the oil; it should sizzle immediately.
- 5
Fry the Chicken Fingers
Carefully place the breaded chicken strips into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
