Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Broccoli
Wash the broccoli florets thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt and debris. Cut the florets into bite-sized pieces if they are large.
- 2
Prepare the Steamer
Fill a pot with about an inch of water and place a steaming basket or a heat-proof colander inside, ensuring it doesn't touch the water. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat.
Cooking
- 3
Steam the Broccoli
Once the water is boiling, add the broccoli florets to the steaming basket. Cover the pot with a lid and steam the broccoli for about 5-7 minutes, until the florets are bright green and tender but still slightly crisp.
- 4
Prepare the Butter Mixture
While the broccoli is steaming, melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until well combined.
- 5
Combine and Serve
Once the broccoli is cooked, carefully remove it from the steamer and transfer it to a serving bowl. Drizzle the melted butter mixture over the steamed broccoli and toss gently to coat. Serve immediately.
