Brownie Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- 2
Melt the Butter
In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- 3
Mix Sugars and Eggs
In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Stir until well combined. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
- 4
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder until well combined.
- 5
Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Adding Toppings and Baking
- 6
Add Nuts
Fold in the chopped nuts into the brownie batter.
- 7
Pour and Bake
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- 8
Cool and Serve
Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares and serving.
