Pulled Duck Arepas Ingredients

Method

Pulled Duck Arepas Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Duck Confit

In a large pot, season the duck legs with salt and pepper. Add the chorizo sausage and duck fat. Cover and cook on low heat for 2-3 hours until the duck is tender and falls off the bone.

  2. 2

    Shred the Duck

Once the duck is cooked, remove it from the pot and shred the meat using two forks. Mix in some of the cooking liquid for added flavor.

  3. 3

    Make the Arepas

In a bowl, combine the cornmeal and water. Mix until a dough forms. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape each into a patty. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the arepas for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Dish

Cut open the arepas and fill them with the pulled duck confit. Top with crema, pickled jalapeños, and fresh cilantro.
