Method

Meatballs

1

Prepare the Meatballs

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

2

Form the Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball. Place the formed meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

3

Bake the Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through.

Sauce

4

Sauté the Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.

5

Prepare the Sauce

Add the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, sugar, salt, black pepper, and basil to the skillet. Stir well to combine.

6

Simmer the Sauce

Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer. Cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and flavors meld.

Pasta

7

Cook the Spaghetti

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

8

Combine the Pasta and Sauce

Once the meatballs are cooked and the sauce is ready, add the meatballs to the sauce and stir gently to coat. Serve over the cooked spaghetti.
