Dough Preparation
Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, mix the warm water with sugar and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Mix well.
Combine Ingredients
Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture. Stir until a dough begins to form.
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Let the Dough Rise
Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Assemble and Bake
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it out into a large circle or rectangle, depending on your baking sheet.
Add Sauce and Toppings
Transfer the rolled dough onto a baking sheet. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the surface, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Add pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, and olives on top. Finish with oregano and fresh basil.
Bake the Pizza
Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
Cool and Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve hot.
