Method

Dough Preparation

1

Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the water and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.

3

Combine Ingredients

Once the yeast is activated, add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture. Mix until a dough begins to form.

4

Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

5

Let Dough Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Garlic Butter Preparation

6

Melt Butter

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter.

7

Add Garlic and Parsley

Stir in the minced garlic and chopped parsley. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add salt, and remove from heat.

Forming and Baking

8

Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

9

Shape Knots

Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently and divide it into small portions. Roll each portion into a rope about 8 inches long and tie it into a knot.

10

Prepare Baking Sheet

Place the knots on a greased baking sheet, leaving some space between each one.

11

Brush with Garlic Butter

Using a brush, generously apply the garlic butter mixture over each knot.

12

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

13

Add Toppings

Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning.

Serving

14

Cool and Serve

Let the garlic knots cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
