Chicken Preparation

1

Prep the Chicken

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.

2

Dredging Station

Set up a dredging station: Place the flour in one shallow dish, beat the eggs in another dish, and mix the breadcrumbs with the grated Parmesan cheese in a third dish.

3

Coat the Chicken

Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off the excess. Then dip it in the beaten eggs, and finally coat it in the breadcrumb and Parmesan mixture. Ensure each piece is well coated.

4

Brown the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish.

Sauce Preparation

5

Make the Sauce

In the same skillet, add more olive oil if necessary, and sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the crushed tomatoes, oregano, and basil. Simmer for about 10 minutes to let the flavors meld.

6

Assemble the Dish

Pour the sauce evenly over the browned chicken breasts. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.

Baking

7

Bake the Chicken Parmesan

Transfer the baking dish to the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnishing

8

Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
