Ahi Tuna

Sriracha Mayo

Wonton Crisps

Method

Preparing the Ahi Tuna

  1. 1

    Season the Tuna

Rub the Ahi tuna steaks with olive oil, salt, and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Sear the Tuna

Heat a skillet over high heat. When hot, add the seasoned tuna steaks and sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side, depending on thickness, until the outside is browned but the inside remains rare. Remove from heat and let rest.

Making the Glaze

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and minced garlic.

  2. 4

    Cook the Glaze

Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.

Preparing the Sriracha Mayo

  1. 5

    Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, Sriracha sauce, and lime juice. Stir well until smooth and fully integrated.

Frying Wonton Crisps

  1. 6

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat cooking oil over medium-high heat.

  2. 7

    Fry Wonton Wrappers

Once the oil is hot, carefully add wonton wrappers in batches. Fry for about 1-2 minutes or until they turn golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Dish

Slice the seared Ahi tuna and arrange on a plate. Drizzle the glaze over the tuna and serve with a side of Sriracha mayo and wonton crisps.
