Method

Prepare the Pancake Batter

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; some lumps are okay.

Cook the Pancakes

  1. 4

    Preheat the Griddle

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with cooking spray or a small amount of butter.

  2. 5

    Pour the Batter

Using a ladle or measuring cup, pour about 1/3 cup of pancake batter onto the heated skillet for each pancake.

  3. 6

    Cook Until Bubbly

Cook the pancakes for about 2-3 minutes or until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set.

  4. 7

    Flip and Cook

Carefully flip the pancakes and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Remove from skillet and keep warm.

Serve the Pancakes

  1. 8

    Plate the Pancakes

Stack three pancakes on a serving plate.

  2. 9

    Add Toppings

Top the pancakes with a generous dollop of whipped cream and drizzle with warm syrup.
