Fried Pickles
Buttermilk Ranch
Method
Fried Pickles
- 1
Prepare the Pickles
Drain the dill pickle slices and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- 3
Coat the Pickles
Pour buttermilk into a shallow dish. Dip each pickle slice into the buttermilk, then coat it in the flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere the batter.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.
- 5
Fry the Pickles
Carefully add the battered pickle slices to the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Once fried, remove the pickles from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve immediately.
Buttermilk Ranch
- 7

- 8
Add Seasonings

- 9
Chill the Dressing
Cover the ranch dressing and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
