Method

Sautéed Shrimp

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

Peel and devein the shrimp, removing the shells and tails. Rinse them under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Make the Garlic Butter

In a large skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic (3 cloves) and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. 3

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Cook for 3-4 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the shrimp are pink and opaque.

  4. 4

    Finish with Lemon Juice

Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle 2 tablespoons of lemon juice over the shrimp. Toss to coat evenly and serve immediately.

Tempura Battered Shrimp

  1. 5

    Prepare the Tempura Batter

In a bowl, mix 1 cup of tempura batter mix with 1 cup of ice water until just combined. The batter should be lumpy; do not overmix.

  2. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat 2 cups of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 7

    Coat the Shrimp

Dip each shrimp into the tempura batter, allowing excess batter to drip off.

  4. 8

    Fry the Shrimp

Carefully place the battered shrimp into the hot oil, frying in batches. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  5. 9

    Serve

Serve the tempura battered shrimp hot with a dipping sauce of your choice.
