Method

Preparing the Rice

  1. 1

    Cook the Rice

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of white rice and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.

Cooking the Protein

  1. 2

    Prepare the Beef and Chicken

Slice the beef sirloin and chicken breast into thin strips. Season with salt and black pepper.

  2. 3

    Cook the Beef

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a tablespoon of butter. Once melted, add the beef strips and cook for about 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  3. 4

    Cook the Chicken

In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of butter. Add the chicken strips and cook for about 5-7 minutes until fully cooked and golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  4. 5

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the remaining butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the shrimp and cook for about 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Making the Sauce

  1. 6

Prepare the Sweet & Spicy Sauce

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the soy sauce, honey, Sriracha sauce, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine and simmer for about 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Combining Everything

  1. 7

    Combine Protein with Sauce

Return the cooked beef, chicken, and shrimp to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat the protein evenly and heat through for about 2 minutes.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve the Dish

To serve, place a generous scoop of the cooked rice on a plate, top with the protein mixture, and drizzle any remaining sauce over the top. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
