Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Edamame

If using frozen edamame, remove it from the freezer and allow it to thaw for 5-10 minutes at room temperature. If using fresh edamame, rinse them thoroughly under cold water.

  2. 2

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring about 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat. Make sure you have enough water to cover the edamame completely.

  3. 3

    Steam the Edamame

Once the water is boiling, add the edamame pods to the pot. Allow them to boil for 4-5 minutes until they are tender and bright green. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.

  4. 4

    Drain and Season

After boiling, carefully drain the edamame in a colander to remove excess water. While they are still hot, sprinkle sea salt over the edamame pods. Toss gently to distribute the salt evenly.

  5. 5

    Serve

Transfer the seasoned edamame to a serving bowl and enjoy warm. You can serve them with extra sea salt on the side for those who prefer more seasoning.
