Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Wash the Roma tomatoes and fresh basil leaves thoroughly under cold water. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.

  2. 2

    Slice the Tomatoes

Cut the Roma tomatoes into even slices, about 1/4 inch thick. Arrange the slices on a serving platter.

  3. 3

    Slice the Cheese

Cut the fior di latte cheese into slices similar in thickness to the tomatoes. Place the cheese slices on top of the tomato slices.

  4. 4

    Add Olives

Pit the black olives if they are not already pitted, then slice them in half. Scatter the olives over the tomatoes and cheese.

  5. 5

    Garnish with Basil

Tear the fresh basil leaves into smaller pieces and sprinkle them over the entire dish for garnish.

Finishing Touches

  1. 6

    Drizzle with E.V.O.O.

Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil over the assembled Caprese salad generously.

  2. 7

    Season

Sprinkle salt over the salad to taste, enhancing the flavors of the fresh ingredients.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately as an appetizer or side dish, enjoying the fresh and vibrant flavors of the Caprese.
