Churro Ingredients

Method

Churro Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Stir in flour until mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Add Eggs to Dough

Add eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition until smooth and fully incorporated.

  3. 3

    Heat Oil

In a deep skillet or heavy pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F (190°C).

  4. 4

    Pipe Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe strips of dough directly into the hot oil, cutting with scissors to desired length.

  5. 5

    Fry the Churros

Fry churros in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Coat with Cinnamon Sugar

In a shallow bowl, mix 1 cup granulated sugar with 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon. Roll churros in the cinnamon sugar while still warm.
