Prepare the Tea

  1. 1

    Boil the Water

In a medium-sized saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Steep the Tea Leaves

Once the water is boiling, remove it from the heat and add 4 teaspoons of Thai black tea leaves. Allow the tea to steep for about 10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Strain the Tea

After steeping, strain the tea leaves using a fine mesh strainer into a heatproof pitcher or bowl. Discard the tea leaves.

Prepare the Sweetened Mixture

  1. 4

    Mix the Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine 3 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk, 2 tablespoons of evaporated milk, and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar. Whisk them together until the sugar is fully dissolved.

Assemble the Drink

  1. 5

    Combine Tea and Milk Mixture

Pour the prepared sweetened condensed milk mixture into the strained tea. Stir well to combine.

  2. 6

    Serve Over Ice

Fill a glass with ice cubes (about 1 cup) and pour the Thai iced tea mixture over the ice. If desired, garnish with a star anise for added flavor.
