Dumpling Ingredients

Method

Dumpling Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, grated ginger, minced garlic, chopped green onions, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form the Dumplings

Take a dumpling wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the pork mixture in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold the wrapper over to create a half-moon shape, and pinch the edges tightly to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Soup Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Broth

In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced ginger and soy sauce. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  2. 4

    Steam the Dumplings

Once the broth is simmering, carefully add the dumplings to a steamer basket lined with parchment paper. Steam the dumplings for about 10-12 minutes or until cooked through.

  3. 5

    Assemble the Soup

In large bowls, place a few steamed dumplings and ladle the hot broth over them. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
