Dumpling Dough

Dipping Sauce

Method

Dumpling Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dough Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add hot water while stirring with a fork until the mixture starts to come together.

  2. 2

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  1. 3

    Combine Filling Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

Dumpling Assembly

  1. 4

    Roll Dough

After resting, divide the dough into small pieces (about 1 inch each). Roll each piece into a circle about 3 inches in diameter.

  2. 5

    Fill Dumplings

Place about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal tightly.

Steaming

  1. 6

    Prepare Steamer

Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil. Line a steamer basket with parchment paper or cabbage leaves to prevent sticking.

  2. 7

    Steam Dumplings

Arrange dumplings in the steamer basket, leaving space between each. Cover and steam for about 15-20 minutes until cooked through.

Dipping Sauce Preparation

  1. 8

    Mix Dipping Sauce

In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili oil, and sesame seeds. Stir well to combine.
