Noodles

Method

Preparation of Noodles

  1. 1

    Cook Rice Noodles

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the rice noodles and cook according to package instructions, usually 4-6 minutes, until tender. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop cooking. Set aside.

Shrimp and Vegetables

  1. 2

    Sauté Shrimp

In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes. Remove shrimp and set aside.

  2. 3

    Cook Vegetables

In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil if needed. Add sliced bell pepper and julienned carrot. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften. Add chopped green onions and bean sprouts, and cook for an additional minute.

Combining Ingredients

  1. 4

    Mix Everything Together

Return the sautéed shrimp to the skillet with vegetables. Add the cooked rice noodles.

  2. 5

    Add Sauce

In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, chili paste, and sugar. Pour the sauce over the shrimp and noodles. Toss everything together until well coated and heated through, about 2-3 minutes.

Garnishing

  1. 6

    Serve

Divide the shrimp street noodles into bowls. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side.
