Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

In a bowl, toss the shrimp with cornstarch until they're fully coated. This will help create a crispy texture when cooked.

  2. 2

    Make the Sauce

In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and water until well combined. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Stir-Fry Vegetables

In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and sliced bell pepper, and stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until they are tender yet crisp. Add the chopped green onions and cook for an additional minute.

  2. 4

    Cook the Shrimp

In the same skillet, push the vegetables to the side and add the coated shrimp. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.

  3. 5

    Combine Shrimp and Sauce

Pour the prepared sauce over the shrimp and vegetables. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Serving

  1. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat and sprinkle sesame seeds and fresh cilantro over the top. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
