Fried Bananas
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Bananas
Peel the ripe bananas and slice them diagonally into 1/2 inch thick pieces.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the water while stirring until you have a smooth batter.
Frying
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test if the oil is ready by dropping a small amount of batter into it; if it sizzles, the oil is hot enough.
- 4
Dip the Bananas
Carefully dip each banana slice into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
- 5
Fry the Bananas
Once the oil is hot, gently place the battered banana slices into the oil. Fry in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
- 6
Remove and Drain
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried bananas from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
