Dough

Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.

  2. 2

    Add Water

Gradually add water to the flour mixture while stirring with a fork until a dough begins to form.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Rest the Dough

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Filling

In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped cabbage, green onions, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Dumpling Assembly

  1. 6

    Roll Out the Dough

After the dough has rested, divide it into small balls (about the size of a golf ball). On a floured surface, roll out each ball into a thin circle, about 3 inches in diameter.

  2. 7

    Fill the Dumplings

Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each dough circle. Be careful not to overfill.

  3. 8

    Seal the Dumplings

Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges together tightly to seal.

Cooking the Dumplings

  1. 9

    Boil or Steam

To cook the dumplings, you can either boil them in a pot of salted water for about 5-7 minutes or steam them for about 10 minutes until fully cooked.

  2. 10

    Serve

Remove the dumplings from the water or steamer and serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
