Main Ingredients

Brown Sauce

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and season with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Set aside to marinate for about 10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Chop the Vegetables

Slice the bell peppers and carrots into thin strips. Cut the broccoli into small florets and set all vegetables aside.

Brown Sauce

  1. 3

    Make the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, water, sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, and black pepper. Mix well until the cornstarch is dissolved.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Cook the Chicken

In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 5

    Stir-Fry the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add a little more oil if necessary and toss in the bell peppers, carrots, and broccoli. Stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.

  3. 6

    Combine and Serve

Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the prepared brown sauce over the chicken and vegetables. Stir well to coat everything in the sauce and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
