Mojarra Frita Ingredients
Method
Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Fish
Clean the tilapia and pat it dry with paper towels. Make 2-3 diagonal cuts on each side of the fish to help it cook evenly.
- 2
Season the Fish
Rub the fish with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and lemon juice, ensuring it is well-seasoned. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
- 3
Cook the Rice
In a pot, combine the white rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes until the rice is fluffy and the water is absorbed.
- 4
Fry the Fish
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully place the fish in the skillet and fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Prepare the Salad
Chop the lettuce and tomato into bite-sized pieces and toss them together in a bowl.
- 6
Serve
Plate the fried tilapia alongside a serving of rice, salad, and bread. Enjoy your Mojarra Frita!
