Churro Ingredients

Method

Churro Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil.

  2. 2

Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the flour until well combined. The dough should form a ball.

  3. 3

Let the dough cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until smooth.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Pipe the Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe 6-inch strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them off with scissors.

  6. 6

    Fry the Churros

Fry the churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  7. 7

    Coat in Sugar and Cinnamon

In a shallow dish, combine the sugar and cinnamon. While the churros are still warm, roll them in the sugar mixture to coat.

  8. 8

    Serve

Serve warm, with chocolate sauce or caramel for dipping if desired.
