Carne Asada Ingredients

Method

Carne Asada Directions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a large bowl, combine lime juice, minced garlic, ground cumin, chili powder, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Add the Angus steak, ensuring it is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

  2. 2

    Grill the Onions

Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onion and grill until tender and slightly charred, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Preheat the grill to high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Let the steak rest for about 5 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Plates

On each plate, serve a portion of grilled steak topped with grilled onions. Add a side of cooked rice, beans, guacamole, and pico de gallo. Warm the tortillas on the grill or stovetop and serve alongside.
