Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the rigatoni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 2
Cook the Meat
In a large skillet or saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- 3
Add the Meats
Add the ground beef, pork, and veal to the skillet. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- 4
Make the Sauce
Stir in the Italian plum tomatoes, salt, black pepper, oregano, and basil. Bring to a simmer and cook for 20-30 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- 5
Combine
Add the cooked rigatoni to the meat sauce and toss to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes over low heat to warm through.
- 6
Serve
Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
