Meatballs
Method
Baking
- 1
Prepare the Meatball Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Form the Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Shape the meat mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 3
Bake the Meatballs
Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until they are cooked through and browned on the outside.
- 4
Prepare the Sauce and Cheese
While the meatballs are baking, heat your favorite tomato sauce in a saucepan over medium heat. Once the meatballs are done, remove them from the oven.
- 5
Combine and Broil
In a baking dish, spread a layer of tomato sauce, add the baked meatballs, and top with fresh mozzarella. Broil on high for 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 6
Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
