Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Pork Belly

Start by cutting the pork belly into 1-inch cubes. Place the cubes in a large mixing bowl.

2

Season the Pork

Sprinkle the salt, lemon juice, garlic powder, and black pepper over the pork cubes. Mix well to ensure all pieces are evenly coated with the seasoning.

3

Marinate

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for better flavor.

Frying

4

Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

5

Fry the Pork

Carefully add the marinated pork cubes into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 10-15 minutes or until the chicharrones are golden brown and crispy.

6

Drain and Cool

Use a slotted spoon to remove the chicharrones from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Allow them to cool slightly before serving.
