Falafel Preparation

Soak Chickpeas
Place dried chickpeas in a bowl and cover with water. Soak overnight for at least 8 hours.

Blend Ingredients
Drain and rinse the soaked chickpeas. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, parsley, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, salt, pepper, and baking powder. Pulse until the mixture is coarsely blended but not pureed.

Add Flour and Water
Transfer the mixture to a bowl. Stir in the flour and water until well combined. Let the mixture rest for 30 minutes.

Form Falafel Balls
With wet hands, form the mixture into small balls or patties, about the size of a golf ball.

Frying Falafel

Heat Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Fry Falafel
Carefully drop the falafel balls into the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Fry for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.
