Chapli Kabob

Cilantro Yogurt Sauce

Serving Accompaniments

Method

Chapli Kabob Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef or chicken, finely chopped onion, chopped coriander and mint leaves, chopped green chili, ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, salt, black pepper, and egg. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Add Bread Crumbs

Stir in the bread crumbs to the meat mixture. This will help bind the kabobs and give them a good texture.

  3. 3

    Shape the Kabobs

Take a handful of the mixture and shape it into round patties, about 1 inch thick. Repeat until all the mixture is shaped.

  4. 4

    Fry the Kabobs

Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the shaped kabobs in the skillet. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Cilantro Yogurt Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix the Sauce

In a bowl, combine plain yogurt, chopped cilantro, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are blended.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

Serve the chapli kabobs hot with fresh tandoori naan, a serving of cooked rice, a side salad, and a generous dollop of cilantro yogurt sauce.
