Cinnamon Roll Ingredients

Method

Cinnamon Roll Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter until warm (not hot). Remove from heat and stir in the sugar and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and cinnamon. Add the yeast mixture and eggs to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.

  4. 4

    Roll Out the Dough

Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle (1/4 inch thick). Spread softened butter over the dough.

  5. 5

    Add Filling

In a bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the buttered dough.

  6. 6

    Shape the Rolls

Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.

  7. 7

    Second Rise

Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

  8. 8

    Bake the Rolls

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

  9. 9

    Prepare the Glaze

While the rolls are baking, mix powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk in a bowl until smooth.

  10. 10

    Glaze and Serve

Once the rolls are out of the oven, drizzle the vanilla glaze on top and serve with mixed fruit.
