Method

Preparation of Filling

1

Make the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped green onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, black pepper, and finely shredded carrots. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.

Wonton Assembly

2

Fill the Wontons

Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 teaspoon of the filling mixture in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water, then fold it over to create a triangle shape. Press the edges to seal tightly. For a decorative touch, you can bring the two corners of the triangle together and seal with water.

3

Repeat

Continue this process until all the filling is used or you have made desired amount of wontons.

Frying

4

Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches around 180°C (350°F). You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of wonton wrapper into the oil; it should sizzle immediately.

5

Fry the Wontons

Carefully add a few wontons to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally until they are golden brown and crispy.

6

Drain and Serve

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried wontons from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
