Method
Crust Preparation
Make the Crust
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly moistened.
Form the Crust
Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish. Ensure it is packed tightly for a sturdy crust.
Bake the Crust
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the crust for about 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
Filling Preparation
Prepare the Filling
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. This will add lightness to the filling.
Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully incorporated. Be careful not to deflate the whipped cream.
Assembling the Pie
Fill the Crust
Pour the cream filling into the cooled graham cracker crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Chill the Pie
Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours or until set.
Serve
Before serving, top with whipped cream and sprinkle with chocolate shavings or sprinkles. Optionally, add a scoop of ice cream on top.
