Method
Brewing the Tea
Boil Water
In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil.
Steep Tea
Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add 4 black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you want your tea.
Remove Tea Bags
Carefully remove the tea bags from the saucepan and discard them.
Sweetening and Flavoring
Add Sugar
While the tea is still warm, stir in 1 cup of sugar until fully dissolved.
Add Lemon Juice
Stir in 1 cup of lemon juice to give the tea a refreshing tartness.
Add Mint Leaves
Crush 1 cup of mint leaves slightly to release their flavor and add them to the tea mixture. Stir well.
Chilling and Serving
Cool Down
Allow the sweetened tea mixture to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours until chilled.
Serve
To serve, fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the chilled tea over the ice. Garnish with lemon slices and additional mint leaves if desired.
