Churro Dough
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
For Frying
Method
Prepare the Churro Dough
Boil Ingredients
In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
Add Flour
Once the mixture reaches a boil, remove it from heat and quickly add 1 cup of all-purpose flour. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the dough forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
Incorporate Eggs
Allow the dough to cool for a few minutes, then add 2 large eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.
Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Coating
Mix Sugar and Cinnamon
In a small bowl, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar with 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon. Mix well to ensure an even distribution of cinnamon.
Fry the Churros
Heat the Oil
In a deep pot or fryer, heat 4 cups of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.
Pipe the Dough
Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Carefully pipe 4-6 inch long strips of dough into the hot oil.
Fry Until Golden
Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown. Avoid overcrowding the pot.
