Method
Crust Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2
Prepare the Crust
In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
- 3
Form the Crust
Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan evenly. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool.
Cheesecake Filling Preparation
- 4
Beat the Cream Cheese
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
- 5
Add Sugar and Vanilla
Gradually add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract to the cream cheese, continuing to beat until fully incorporated.
- 6
Mix in Sour Cream and Eggs
Add the sour cream and mix until combined. Then, add the eggs one at a time, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- 7
Add Flour
Gently fold in the all-purpose flour until just mixed. Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled crust in the springform pan.
Baking and Cooling
- 8
Bake the Cheesecake
Bake the cheesecake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
- 9
Cool the Cheesecake
Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside with the door slightly ajar for 1 hour. This helps prevent cracking.
- 10
Chill the Cheesecake
Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool at room temperature for another hour. Then, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
