Preparing the Crab Legs
- 1
Thawing the Crab
If your Alaskan King Crab legs are frozen, place them in the refrigerator 24 hours before cooking to thaw. If you need to thaw them quickly, run them under cold water for about 30 minutes.
- 2
Boiling Water
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the water for flavor.
- 3
Cooking the Crab Legs
Once the water is boiling, add the thawed crab legs. Boil for about 5-7 minutes, making sure they are heated through. Be careful not to overcook.
Preparing the Drawn Butter
- 4
Melting the Butter
In a small saucepan, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat. Do not let it brown.
- 5

Once the butter is melted, add 2 minced garlic cloves and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
