Method

Meatballs Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

Using your hands, shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

  3. 3

    Fry Meatballs

In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, cooking until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.

Gravy Preparation

  1. 4

    Make Roux

In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned.

  2. 5

    Add Broth

Slowly whisk in the beef broth, making sure no lumps remain. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

  3. 6

    Finish Gravy

Stir in the heavy cream and soy sauce. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Allow to simmer for an additional 3-5 minutes.

Combine and Serve

  1. 7

    Combine Meatballs and Gravy

Add the cooked meatballs back into the skillet with the gravy, ensuring they are well coated. Simmer together for another 5 minutes.

  2. 8

    Garnish

Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
