Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder and rinse under cold water. Pat dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Pork

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Slow Cook the Pork

Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker. In a separate bowl, mix BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Pour the sauce over the pork. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the pork is tender and easily pulls apart.

Serving

  1. 4

    Pull the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and place it on a cutting board. Using two forks, shred the pork into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 5

    Assemble the Sandwiches

Place the pulled pork on buns. Top with coleslaw if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
