Method

For the Ribeye Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steaks with olive oil, then season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Sear the Steak

Heat a skillet or grill over high heat. Once hot, place the steaks in the pan. Sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adding garlic cloves and rosemary to the pan for flavor.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your desired doneness, remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

For the Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. 5

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a large pot, cover with water, and add a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil and cook for about 15-20 minutes or until tender.

  2. 6

    Cook the Garlic

During the last 5 minutes of boiling, add the garlic cloves to the pot with the potatoes.

  3. 7

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and garlic, then return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  4. 8

    Serve

Spoon the mashed potatoes onto plates and serve alongside the ribeye steak.
