Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brussels Sprouts

Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any yellow or damaged leaves. Cut each sprout in half lengthwise.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the bacon slices and cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on paper towels to drain excess grease. Leave about 1 tablespoon of bacon fat in the skillet.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté Brussels Sprouts

In the same skillet with the reserved bacon fat, add the olive oil and Brussels sprouts. Season with salt and black pepper. Sauté for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the Brussels sprouts are golden brown and tender.

  2. 4

    Prepare Balsamic Reduction

In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar and honey. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes or until it has thickened slightly, stirring occasionally.

  3. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Crumble the cooked bacon and add it to the sautéed Brussels sprouts. Drizzle the balsamic reduction over the top and toss everything together to combine.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve

Transfer the Brussels sprouts with bacon to a serving platter. Drizzle any remaining balsamic reduction over the top before serving.
