Grapes and Wine Components

Method

Winemaking Process

  1. 1

    Harvesting the Grapes

Harvest ripe Chardonnay grapes from the vineyard, ensuring they are free of any rot or disease.

  2. 2

    Crushing and Pressing

Crush the grapes gently to release the juice. Press the crushed grapes to extract the juice.

  3. 3

    Juice Preparation

Transfer the juice to a sanitized fermentation vessel. Add cold water to achieve the desired volume.

  4. 4

    Adding Yeast

Sprinkle the wine yeast over the surface of the juice. Allow it to hydrate for about 15 minutes, then stir gently to incorporate.

  5. 5

    Fermentation

Cover the fermentation vessel with an airlock. Allow the juice to ferment at a controlled temperature (approximately 18-22°C) for 2-3 weeks, or until fermentation is complete.

  6. 6

    Racking

Once fermentation is complete, siphon the wine off the sediment into a clean vessel, leaving the sediment behind.

  7. 7

    Bottling

Prepare clean bottles and caps. Fill the bottles with wine, leaving some headspace at the top, and seal them with caps. Store the bottles in a cool, dark place.

  8. 8

    Enjoy

Serve the Chardonnay slightly chilled, ideally paired with poultry, pork, or seafood.
