Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, egg, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.

  3. 3

    Form Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 4

    Bake Meatballs

Drizzle olive oil over the meatballs and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and browned.

Marinara Sauce

  1. 5

    Sauté Garlic

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  2. 6

    Add Tomatoes and Spices

Add crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar to the skillet. Stir to combine.

  3. 7

    Simmer Sauce

Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. 8

    Add Meatballs

Once the meatballs are baked, add them to the marinara sauce and let them simmer together for another 10 minutes.

Spaghetti

  1. 9

    Cook Spaghetti

In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add 1 tablespoon of salt. Add spaghetti pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 10

    Combine and Serve

Toss the cooked spaghetti with the marinara sauce and meatballs. Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and parsley if desired.
