Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Tomatoes
Wash the fresh tomatoes thoroughly under running water. Slice each tomato into medium-thick rounds and arrange them on a serving platter.
- 2
Prepare the Mozzarella
Drain the fior di latte mozzarella and pat it dry with a paper towel. Slice the mozzarella into similar thickness as the tomatoes and layer it on top of the tomato slices.
- 3
Add Basil
Take the fresh basil leaves and scatter them over the tomatoes and mozzarella. You can either leave the leaves whole or tear them into smaller pieces for more flavor.
- 4
Drizzle with EVOO
Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil generously over the arranged tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil.
- 5
Add Balsamic Vinegar
Drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the salad, ensuring an even distribution for a balanced flavor.
- 6
Season to Taste
Sprinkle salt and black pepper to taste over the entire dish, enhancing the flavors of the fresh ingredients.
- 7
Serve
Serve the Caprese salad immediately as a refreshing appetizer or side dish.
