Method
Tiramisu Directions
- 1
Prepare the Coffee
Brew the espresso coffee and let it cool. You can add a splash of coffee liqueur for extra flavor if desired.
- 2
Make the Mascarpone Mixture
In a large bowl, whisk the mascarpone cheese and sugar together until smooth. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream to soft peaks and then fold it into the mascarpone mixture.
- 3
Layer the Tiramisu
Dip each ladyfinger in the cooled espresso for a few seconds until soaked, but not soggy. Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- 4
Repeat Layers
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers on top of the mascarpone mixture, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture. Spread it evenly.
- 5
Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
- 6
Prepare the Citrus Coulis
In a small saucepan, combine orange juice, lemon juice, and sugar. Heat over medium until sugar dissolves. Let cool, then blend until smooth. Strain if desired.
- 7
Serve
Once chilled, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder and sprinkle with toasted hazelnuts. Serve with the citrus coulis drizzled around.
