Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Water and Butter

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of butter, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once the mixture is boiling, remove it from heat and stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour until fully combined and the dough forms a ball.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Allow the dough to cool for about 5 minutes. Then, add 2 large eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

  4. 4

    Prepare for Frying

Transfer the dough to a pastry bag fitted with a large star tip.

Frying Churros

  1. 5

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat 2 cups of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe and Fry

Pipe 4-6 inch lengths of dough directly into the hot oil, cutting with scissors. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.

  3. 7

    Drain and Coat

Remove churros from oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil. In a shallow dish, combine 1 cup of sugar with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, then roll the churros in the mixture while they're still warm.

Chocolate Sauce Preparation

  1. 8

    Heat Cream

In a small saucepan, heat 1 cup of heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer.

  2. 9

    Add Chocolate Chips

Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips until melted and smooth.

  3. 10

    Finish Sauce

Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract for flavor. Keep warm until ready to serve.
