Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Add Wet Ingredients

Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.

  4. 4

    Incorporate Boiling Water

Stir in the boiling water carefully; the batter will be thin. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.

  5. 5

    Bake the Cake

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Cool the Cakes

Remove the cakes from the oven and allow them to cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, remove them from the pans and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Whipped Cream Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare the Whipped Cream

In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.

  2. 8

    Whip the Cream

Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer, whip the mixture on medium-high speed until soft peaks form.

  3. 9

    Frost the Cake

Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of whipped cream on top, then place the second layer on top of that and frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining whipped cream.
