Method
Preparing the Meat Filling
- 1
Cook the Beef
In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
- 2
Add Seasoning
Once the beef is browned, drain any excess fat. Add taco seasoning to the beef, along with a splash of water (about 1/4 cup). Stir to combine and let simmer for about 3-5 minutes until the mixture thickens.
Assembling the Burrito
- 3
Prepare the Tortilla
Lay the large flour tortilla flat on a clean surface or a large plate.
- 4
Add Meat Filling
Spoon the cooked ground beef mixture into the center of the tortilla, leaving some space on the edges for folding.
- 5
Layer Vegetables and Toppings
Top the meat with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, and add sour cream and sliced jalapeños as desired.
- 6
Fold the Burrito
To fold the burrito, first fold the sides inwards, then roll the bottom up over the filling, and continue rolling tightly until the burrito is fully wrapped.
Serving
- 7
Serve the Burrito
Cut the burrito in half if desired and serve immediately with additional sour cream or salsa on the side.
